In 1878, Connell Cannon, cattle dealer, formerly of Drimkeelan and now of Donegal, was a member of the Grand Jury at the Donegal Quarter Sessions. Another member of the jury was Connell’s brother-in-law Jerome Boyce.
Magistrates on the bench included Mr Sinclair, from Mountcharles near Drimkeelan. Connell had successfully appealed a conviction for coursing on his land some years previously.
The clipping is from the Derry Journal, 21 October 1878.
