The year after he made his contribution to the Donegal Relief Fund, Connell Cannon, originally of Drimkeelan, now a cattle dealer in Donegal, secured a victory in the Donegal courts when he successfully appealed his conviction for coursing (the pursuit of game or other animals by dogs) over the lands of Mr Sinclair, a landlord in the vicinity of Drimkeelan.
